Is there any downside to using Cloudflare’s free account level for simple, low-traffic public websites to get free DNS, DDoS and CDN? The only thing I can think of is that I’m sure Cloudflare is one of the Internet’s biggest targets for hackers. But I had issues with DDoS protection for my VPS provider involving packet loss that they took a week to fix. So now I’m not using any DDoS for these relatively obscure sites and continue to host my DNS for free with Hurricane Electric. Thinking of moving everything to Cloudflare and still get good-performing free DNS, and the other benefits (CDN, DDoS, etc).
