Hi all, I have a client who pays a monthly retainer for unlimited services. There is no cap on my hours, quantity of work etc. As such, they expect me to be at their beck and call 24/7 and often decide to execute projects with little notice.
I’d like to take a vacation in March and want to give them generous advance notice. A few questions:
– If there’s nothing stated in a contract re availability/vacation, what is an appropriate amount of time for a freelancer to be off/ totally unavailable? I’d like for it to be 2 weeks but I’m concerned they may get upset about that length of time.
-Do you have any recommendations for language to use when informing them?
