Can a company do this?

So I am apart of an affiliate program and I trying to understand if that they are doing is normal practice or shady.

* Currently its set up so last click gets the sale. So if I send a potential customer to them and the customer signs up with just their email but don’t purchase an annual plan I get $3.

* The cookie period is 30 days so if they come back and purchase the annual plan within 30 days directly or though other link of mine I get the commission.

* However if they click the link from a (very aggressive) email responder from the company themselves and then sign up for the annual plan I don’t get the commission as they consider themselves the last click.

Is this normal practice?
