Coping with work you hate that is mentally draining

I know I just need to put my big pants on and get over it, but how do you guys find the focus to work on mental tasks you can’t stand? I just find myself disconnecting with my work constantly, easily distracted beyond just wanting to do something else. I would rather sit in a white room with no stimulation than work on this. I can’t avoid this job because I need the money. Any tips or advice?
