eukhost or krystal or alternative? for a few small websites, currently only as a hobby.

Hi,

Looking for some advice. I have a few small websites with very little content on them. It’s been more just a hobby, and a few domains I’ve randomly bought when an idea has entered my head but I’ve yet to act upon.

I’d also like the opportunity to potentially grow or tinker with a very small 2 or 3 product ecommerce site, woocommerce or similar. My current hosting while cheap, is very restrictive to even try anything other than a few landing pages. Which I feel is restricting me making any kind of progress.

I’d like to have the capability to host 6 or 7 very small sites, most might just be a few pages. Cpanel and WordPress I’d think are my most likely options, I’m not really a programmer, but can fix a few small wordpress things when need be.

Currently I have what is now a limited hosting package with:

**TSOhost (formerly vidahost)**

* domains 6
* bandwidth 25gb
* storage 2gb
* email
* £42 per year.

I’d like to change as it seems a bit limited, but happy with the price. Options I’ve considered so far from a bit of research are:

**eukhost**

* domains unlimited
* bandwidth unmetered
* storage 10gb
* email
* £54 per year. (20gb is £81 per year)

**krystal**

* domains unlimited
* bandwidth unmetered
* storage unlimited
* email
* £120 per year.

I noticed eukhost seemed to be recommended here a few years ago, but nothing much recently, and dropped from the sidebar. They seem the easiest minimal increase in price from my current situation, 10gb is maybe enough for a couple of very small sites? and seem to satisfy my criteria? Any others? or aspects I should consider?

Krystal look like the premium choice and would cover all bases, I’d like to choose that option but jumping from £42 a year to £120 per year for what is a hobby and brings in no income (currently) seems a bit much.

I know you pay for what you get, but I’m hoping the eukhost option or a similar option I’ve missed is enough for me, if I start making a little money I could then move to krystal if need be is my thought.

I’ll fill in the form below, although I think I’ve probably already covered the aspects above.

Any advice? guidance? help?

Thanks.

* **What is your monthly budget?** \- Hoping for around £4 or £5 per month.
* **Where are you/your users located?** \- I currently live in Canada but will be moving back to the UK in the near future. Users will hopefully be global, if a small future ecommerce business with a few small products, this would be in the UK.
* **What kind of site are you hosting (WordPress, phpBB, custom software, etc) or what is your use case?** \- I’d imagine wordpress.
* **Do you have a monthly traffic volume? Estimates are ok.** \- very limited as just a hobby, and just starting out. Would hope to grow though!
* **If you’re looking at VPSes: Do you have experience administrating linux servers and infrastructure?** \- whatever this means is definitely beyond my knowledge or skillset.
* **Did you read the sidebar/check out the hosts listed there? I’ve personally vetted these companies and their services are a good fit for 99% of people.** \- Yes, Sir.
