Half-VPS [spinupwp, Serverpilot], or shared hosting + CPanel [Nixihost, GnuHost, Krystal]? I’m coming from Hostgator + CPanel, so either an improvement, but which best?

I’ve been hosted at Hostgator for many years, and I feel comfortable with CPanel. Now it’s finally time to move on, with a budget of around $15 per month (that may scale up in the future if things work out), to host about 5 WordPress sites at present. I’d obviously like to have the sites run fast, to keep a good degree of ability to interact with the server, but not to invest the time required in fully managing a VPS.

What do you think is the best route to go? Will a Half-VPS with Vultr be faster, and still allow me to interact with the server easily, or will I miss CPanel? *(or am I reading how this works completely wrong?)*

* **What is your monthly budget? 15$**
* **Where are you/your users located? USA / Europe**
* **What kind of site are you hosting (WordPress, phpBB, custom software, etc) or what is your use case? WordPress**
* **Do you have a monthly traffic volume? Estimates are ok. Few thousand users in total.**
* **If you’re looking at VPSes: Do you have experience administrating linux servers and infrastructure? No experience on VPS**
* **Did you read the sidebar/check out the hosts listed there? I’ve personally vetted these companies and their services are a good fit for 99% of people. Yes**
