How to best make up for an under-quote?

I underquoted a client on a web development job. Thought it would be less work etc etc. But turns out no

Same client is requesting quote for additional work on same job. Now that I know it will take more time, what is the best way of communicating the relatively higher quote as compared to the original (low) quote?

I’m thinking give a relatively higher quote and then if they fuss tell them the reason (I underquoted and now I know better etc etc)
