I have a fun question for any experienced digital marketers! I just observed a curious experience just now. I was scrolling DoorDash to find something to eat when I finally landed on Taco Bell. I added a few items to my cart but at the least minute decided I would just eat something at home. Fast forward about an hour or so I’m watching YouTube on my tv and a Taco Bell commercial pops up in the middle of a 40 minute video.
Is this just coincidence or is Taco Bell and the YouTube algorithm targeting me because I have an abandoned shopping cart in door dash?
If they are retargeting me how are they able to do it?
Also, if it is intentional, it’s genius. I now wish I had gotten Taco Bell lol
