Should I touch base with a potential client who seemed very interested in working with me?

I had a potential client email me at the start of November interested in my services, but their product wasn’t quite ready yet. They said they’d email again around mid-December, and I had the impression once the ball got rolling that they wanted a fairly quick turn-around time.

My schedule is now filling up pretty quickly in the new year. I don’t know if I should shoot them a quick email or just let it be. This is only my first year freelancing, so I’m still learning the ropes, and usually when a potential client goes silent I just assume they decided to do something else, so I don’t know if I should even bother?
