Unresponsive client and going on vacation

I currently have a full-time job as an editor but I pick up freelance projects on the side so I’m fairly new to freelancing. I’ve freelanced for this organization for the past 5 months but they’re very slow with feedback. I usually give them a week before nudging them again, and I’m flexible on the timeline for this project. But they have 2 projects that might demand a lot of time and I’ve let them know what a good timeline would be since they’ve given me an estimated deadline in January and February (no concrete dates after I’ve asked for more detail.) I haven’t heard back from them in a while and I am going to be out of town for the last two weeks of December so I might not have enough time. Should I let them know that I won’t be available on those dates and how would I handle clients that take a long time to respond?
